The Darwin exhibition London event at Natural History Museum is set to be a fantastic celebration of the man who changed the world with his theory of evolution. Part of the Darwin 200 celebrations that concentrate around the bicentenary of his birth, the Darwin exhibition at the museum is certain to be an amazing exploration of the ideas and theories with which he shocked the scientific and religious communities of the 19th century.

Ideas that changed the way we viewed the world and with profound insights into the life of Charles Darwin as a scientist, the Darwin exhibition London show is a chance to follow in the footsteps of the evolutionary theorist as begins the journey that would change his life and the those around him forever.

From the days of his adventures aboard the HMS Beagle and his trip to the Galapagos Islands, visitors to the exhibition at Natural History Museum you can follow the same clues as Darwin that helped him develop his ideas, look at his notebooks and personal belongings, rare artefacts, fossils and zoological specimens. Here you can observe the same patterns in nature that Darwin found to that led to the publication of Origin of the Species and his evidence for the theory of evolution.

Providing a fascinating insight into his early workings and the very start of his theories, the Darwin exhibition also gives you the chance to explore the life of Charles Darwin the man, as well as the scientist. Family photos and letters depict Darwin as a family man, husband and father to ten children. Here you can gain access to the lifestyle of the Darwin family, and see what important influences his famliy and friends in the scienfitic community had on him and his theory of evolution.

Coinciding with the Darwin exhibition at Natural History Museum, another exhibition takes place at the museum which looks at the nature of modern evolutionary biology. Exploring the ways in which Darwin's theories are still very much relevant today, this part of the exhibition looks at the importance of understanding how infectious disease causing organisms keep changing as scientists and the medical world attempt to control their spread.

Darwin is part of the Darwin 200 celebrations which are taking place around the world in 2009 to mark the bicentenary of the scientist's birth. The Darwin exhibition London event takes place at the Natural History Museum until Tuesday 31st March 2009.
